Happy to have my mom here!!
My mom has lived at UP since 2020, and we love it! The staff are all wonderful and there is a very low turnover. You always see the same smiling faces when coming and going. My mom has PAS services and her nurses and aides are so sweet. The community and apartments are clean and inviting

When we moved to University Place we originally thought it was an excellent independent living facility. Boy were we wrong. After living here for a few months we cannot recommend anyone moving here. It is our opinion that [name removed] has no concern for the residents of University Place. There doesn’t appear to be any management whatsoever. The food is good but getting hot meals is hit and miss. The maintenance department do what they can, but have limited support from [name removed]. And if something happens on a weekend, forget it. The residents were nice when we first moved in, but then, the normal clicks. Activities are few and always being canceled or no instructor shows up at the scheduled times. The Resident Association wants to live in the past and are not open to modernization, so recommend not asking. Overall, on a scale 1 to 10, we would give it a 2. The two is only because of the way we furnished our apartment.

Horrible
Place is horrible! My mother was to have follow up appointments, and each time they scheduled , w her doctor. Was sent back with out even be seen by her doctor. Had to have my mother re admitted to hospital to find she had blood Clots and 3rd infection.. Really makes me sad that elderly are put off by there age thinking there OLD, they deserve better care than this so called Skilled Nursing, to help? One other note you get passed around on phone by one nurse to another just because nobody wants to answer, call this lazy! Do work in a place if you don’t want to make a difference in a person health- find another job! Care is care. Hope one day your mother isn’t staying at you so called skilled nursing! Horrible care!

Terrible care!
After just six days my wife was sent to the hospital with sever dehydration. She also had a bed sore that was new. She died ten days later without ever regaining consciousness.

Provided excellent care
I moved my loved one here after a very bad experience at another location, and they did a much better job here. The atmosphere was not a warm one, it was a very antiseptic hospital like environment, but it was obvious that they were on the ball and that the care would be good. The staff were all very friendly and professional, and did a great job while he was there.

about University Place

A Place for Mom has scored University Place 6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
