There is no one-size-fits-all approach to memory care, which is why each resident at Brookdale Hampton Cove is given a customized care plan. Located in an upscale area just outside of Huntsville, Alabama, Brookdale Hampton Cove allows seniors with different cognitive levels and abilities to find the support they need.
To support residents' unique journeys, the community offers two signature programs — Clare Bridge and Solace. Through the exclusive Clare Bridge program, residents with different types of dementia can find meaning and stimulation through a mixture of mental and physical activities, such as brain games, walking, and dancing. The Solace program is specifically designed for those in the advanced stages of dementia and also dedicates additional time for grooming and activities involving music and aromatherapy. Not recommended
Brookdale Hampton Cove needs a larger staff to be able to adequately care for the residents who live at this facility. Based on our experience with Brookdale Hampton Cove, I would NOT recommend this facility to others.

They've been accommodating, but it's not very clean and they don't communicate well.
To improve communication, They should have some kind of monthly or weekly summary about what's happened in the community including any incidents. They could also provide something in the room similar to a hospital that states what they've done for your loved one today, or something like that. It seems like I'll go there and there's no communication outside of what my loved one tells me. They don't get back to you nor call you back or anything.
For example: one of the residents got in bed with my loved one and they didn't tell me that, my loved one did. Following that incident, they installed some sort of pull-cord and said that was in case she fell. They actually installed it so that she could get help if the resident came back. In addition to communication, I also want honest communication.

This facility is great! We've had a couple of minor concerns and they've been great about listening to them and finding solutions, which we are really happy with. They seem to have a good variety of activities and always have something going on for the residents to participate in. The food is good, dad does mention sometimes that he wishes they had more variety, but the food itself is good. The staff is very friendly and very kind. The facility feels more like home than most. It's very clean. Overall, we are very happy with the facility and would recommend them to friends and family!

My first disappointment was the quality of the food that the residents receive, it was not what we were expecting from what they had told us. I have had some issues with them getting my loved one to their appointments as well. I have had some safety issues I have had to report and deal with administration early on. Overall there are definitely some improvements they could make to better the facility itself.

Loving community
Our family loves how engaged all of the staff members are with the residents, it shows just how much they really care about them. They do have different activities like bingo, and balloon tennis with pool noodles. Our loved one has yet to complain about the meals so we assume they are good, and based on the experience we have had so far with Brookdale Hampton we would recommend them to other families

You cant go better than this for a memory care assisted living community for your loved one. The staff are as good as you can get and they do their best. We are living in a covid world and everyone is doing the best that they can.

Good place for friends and family and would recommend it
The staff members were great, and while our loved one was there the care takers did they best they could with his care. We would recommend Brookdale again to anybody. From speaking with him over the phone our impression was that the food was good and he was a picky eater. The value is competitive, it was not the lowest cost but not the highest cost.

Good facility
It has a good location. Some of the staff are fantastic, some are just so so. [Name removed] is awesome she goes above and beyond, some of the other staff are not as great. We like that the memory care unit is larger then many we had seen. We also like the larger courtyard area.The food is average. The downside is that they do not have skilled nursing on site. That is the biggest negative for us. My mom needed to go to rehab. It would have been nicer to have that onsite. I would recommend the community to others.

Disappointed in level of hygiene care
I Noticed the most recent review was over a year old so decided to relate our experiences. My Father moved in early in 2018 and has moderate dementia/alzhiemers. The staff is kind and helpful but has let his personal hygiene go unattended too much. I allowed several months for him to adapt to the new environment and the staff time to learn his patterns. However, even at month 4 , he is allowed to go without showers and clothes changes too long . They have not been successful getting him to brush his teeth, shave, or cut his nails. The management has gone so far as to shower and shave him personally, which impressed me, but the staff should be trained better or held accountable for not getting these basic hygiene tasks done. Cleanliness of the facility and rooms and food are acceptable but not outstanding.

My mom's Great care
I like this community a lot for my mother's care. .The staff is outstanding. The community is old but very nice. The community. is clean and the menu is outstanding. The activities are excellent. This community has a loving touch to it and that makes us very please to know that she is in great care for the great value.

Some Issues in The Beginning, But Overall A Nice Community
Overall it has been a good experience for my mother since her move to this community. We had some problems with her medications in the beginning, but things are gotten better now. This is a nice community, and they have good staff at this community. For the most part the staff is courteous. There are activities offered for the residents. She is very pleased with the meals, the food is good. I know she is being cared for very well, and in a good hands. This is a community I would recommend.

Good Experience, But Not What My Parents Wanted
We had a good experience at this community,it is a nice place. Unfortunately it wasn't a good fit for my parents and their needs. It wasn't what they wanted. Overall it is a nice community. They do a good job with keeping the community nice and clean. The staff was great, they were very caring and helpful. It is a nice community with good people.

Excellent Care for my mom.
I am very happy with the care that my mom is getting here.It is very clean. She is happy with the staff and getting great care here. The food is very good and she is getting good therapy from the staff. Alot of great activities to enjoy. I would highly recommend this community for other families. There are times when a few extra charges need to be discussed. But over all wonderful community.

doing reasonably well
My uncle is doing reasonably well at Clare Bridge of Hamptom Cove. He is further back from the dining room than preferred. He has dementia and is having trouble finding his way around. The facility people have been courteous. They seem to be be taking good care of him.

I found Brookdale Hampton Cove to be a very inviting. The staff were friendly and appeared to care about the residents who lived there. I observed staff interacting respectfully with residents. All areas looked very clean. There were plenty of areas that the residents could go to relax besides being in their rooms. Also the outdoor center garden was another very beautiful area for residents to relax or get together with others. The dining area looked clean and organized. Menus regarding each meal were clearly posted. I was very impressed with what I observed while I was visiting.
